Introduction And About Me

Hello and welcome to my new blog. I decided to start this blog as we are currently in lockdown due to the Coronavirus and I wanted to share my hints and tips to get through coronavirus. Also, to share some other things with you about all of the work I do, professionally and volunteering. So, my name is Cameron McDonald Smith. I am 25 years old and I live in Thorntonhall, South Lanarkshire.

I currently work at the Scottish Commission for People with Learning Disabilities (SCLD) in Glasgow as their Events and Information Assistant. I have been working at SCLD since February 2014 and I stared in SCLD as their receptionist and in October 2016 I got a promotion to Events and Information Assistant

I am a Volunteer at Young Scot, the National Youth Charity in Scotland and I am currently on my very last project with them which is the Young Scot/Historical Youth Forum #HistoricScot. There are currently about 25 other dedicated young people that have joined the project and I look forward to working with them all on this.

Some other projects I have been on during my time volunteering in Young Scot are:

- I was an ambassador for Year of Young People 2018. There was over 300 Ambassadors from across Scotland. I was an Ambassador between October 2017-January 2019.

- I was a member of the Learner Journey Advisory Group. I was a member of the group from the December 2018- October 2019.

I am currently an Assistant Cub Scout Leader at 8th Clyde Scouts. I really enjoy that as I have completed 4 out of the 5 Sections and I am training to be a fully Trained Cub Scout Leader. I was also Involved in Clyde Scouts Regional Advisory Group (RYAG). I have left that group now as I am now over 25. My last event with the RYAG was delivering Young Leaders Training weekend in March 2020 at Auchengillan Outdoor Centre in Blanefield
